A Family Business Founded on Technology, Steeped in Pride
 |
Robert Wrightman CEO, and Ronald Wrightman
|
Ronald Wrightman made his start in the Log Home industry in 1979, founding his first successful log home company, which is still in operation today. Three years later he sold the business and retired. His son Robert Wrightman, who had been running the plant, stayed on to train the new owners. Robert wrote his carpentry papers and built many log homes for the company. As a licensed realtor, Robert moved on, expanding his horizons in the family’s real estate company. After a great deal of success in real estate Robert realized he had cut his teeth in the log home industry, and now desired to return. He consulted his father about building another log home company; it was like opening a floodgate! For years his father was dreaming of how he could improve upon the original plant and log home system.
Robert and Ronald Wrightman founded True North Log Homes in 1986, both determined to develop a technologically advanced product. Since 1995, Robert, the C.E.O., has been running the company, but he says that Ron’s ideas are still the driving force. Ronald, now retired, continues to hold the 14 Canadian and US patents, the innovation behind the success of the True North Log Home system.
True North Log Homes in Muskoka has models on Hwy 11 in Bracebridge, and a factory in Gravenhurst. True North’s Dealer Network spans Canada and the US, with international sales to Bahamas, Alaska, and Japan. Canada has launched many new products in the global market, but the acclaim granted True North is clearly unsurpassed.
