True North Log Styles
|
Choose from Six Different Log Styles

The wood of choice for our heavy timber log homes is Eastern White Pine. The most valuable soft wood in North America goes into every True North log home. Grown in the forests of Northern Ontario and Quebec, this winter-cut, slow growth tree is carefully chosen by True North to become part of the log wall system. The sap wood is eliminated in the squaring process. This assures that settlement of the logs will be minimal and will not exceed one inch in an eight foot stack.
A wide variety of log styles and corners are offered by True North. The choices cover the entire spectrum of North American log dwellings and design choices, but still incorporating the patented True North innovations that result in our twenty-five year zero air infiltration warranty.

The strength of any building is the corner. The cornerstone, as they say, of a log home is even more important due to the chronic problem of joinery. True North's patented Keylock Air Seal Corner® virtually eliminates air leakage and deterioration due to air and water infiltration. The watershed military dovetail corner has been proven over the years to be the most durable method of construction. By its very design, water will not remain at the joint. Instead all moisture runs off thereby eliminating future deterioration of the joinery. Nails and lag bolts are not part of the joinery. Also available is the revolutionary post corner system which is a first in log home construction. The post to log joinery allows for irregular angles to be part of your log home design, with no compromise to the wall integrity.
