The Adventure Begins
Every True North home begins with a dream — for a lifestyle that reflects your values and personality — in surroundings that inspire you. The thrill of building a home begins with the design. Creating your own unique living space is what turns an ordinary house into an extraordinary lifestyle experience. At True North, our goal is to help you achieve this.
Discover & Dream
You’ll meet with one of our Sales & Design Consultants to talk through your vision, site (or target region), budget benchmarks, and how you envision using the home—weekends, seasons, or full-time. This is a relaxed exploratory conversation where we listen first and help you understand what is possible for your property and investment level.
Initial Design
Your Sales & Design Consultant in collaboration with our award-winning design team, develops an initial concept for your home based on how you want to live and your vision for the home. This can involve creating a custom design from scratch, starting with drawings that you bring to us, or tailoring one of True North’s many award-winning plans to your site, lifestyle, and aesthetic.
Working Drawings
Once you are happy with the design, we move into detailed working drawings. These include structural details, 3D views, and the information needed for permitting and accurate pricing with your builder, helping you validate your total turnkey budget before moving forward.
Production
With drawings approved, our factory in Bracebridge begins cutting your home using our precision cutting technology. Robust quality control checks and a detailed inventory control system ensure that every component specified in your design is precisely manufactured. We also package our patented technology with the wood itself, so the joinery, gaskets, and hardware arrive together to deliver the airtight performance needed for True North’s industry leading 25-Year Zero Air Infiltration Warranty.
Delivery
Finally, we deliver your complete home package to your site. Your package will be ready for your chosen builder to assemble, and our team will be available for support throughout the build. For many clients, this is where years of dreaming become real as the structure quickly rises and your dream comes to life.

What type of wood do you use?
We use winter-cut northeastern white pine, known for its strength, tight growth rings, and minimal shrinkage. It’s stable, sustainable, and ideal for luxury log home construction.
How much does a True North home cost?
Projects typically represent 28–35% of the total turnkey investment, including all Schedule A & B materials. We’ll help you understand how design choices and site conditions affect your overall budget; no guesswork, no surprises.
Are log homes high maintenance?
Not with True North. We are the most maintenance-friendly log & timber home company in the world, thanks to patented technologies that keep logs tight, stable and looking great over time. This significantly reduces the upkeep commonly associated with traditional log homes—so you can spend more time enjoying your home and less time maintaining it.
Do you build the homes yourselves?
True North designs and manufactures your custom log or timber home, but we do not act as the general contractor. Once your home package is delivered, you may work with your own builder, or we can introduce you to one of our trusted construction partners, such as Legacy North Construction Management. Depending on your location, Legacy North offers services ranging from technical guidance to full-service construction management—allowing you to be as hands-on or hands-off as you choose.
